FLOW CYTOMETRY
The CSCR flow cytometry core facility houses two flow cytometers; a BD FACSaria for high speed sorting and a benchtop FACS Calibur for analysis. The FACSaria is equipped with three lasers – 375nm near UV, 488nm blue and 633nm far red laser.

The presence of advanced digital electronics results in faster processing and acquisition rates of up to 70,000 events per second for up to 11 different fluorescence parameters. The fixed nozzle alignment and the use of separate 70 and 100 micron ceramic nozzles favors reliable, long-term cell sorting at a wide variety of speeds and pressure settings.
Other features include its fixed-optics, four well sorting and the capacity of analyzing 9 colors and 2 parameters simultaneously. The FACS calibur with lasers for blue and red is capable of analyzing upto 4 colors simultaneously.
A separate work station for offline data analysis using FlowJo, Cellquest Pro, and DIVA software is provided through the facility's system of networked computers.
